625 INCONEL ALLOY PIPE PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

The high content of nickel used in the alloying of Inconel 625 welded pipe enables the metal to withstand a wide variety of severe corrosive media containing environments.   In mild environments such as the atmosphere, neutral salts, fresh water and sea water, as well as in the presence of alkaline media there is almost no attack on the Inconel 625 stainless steel pipe.   In a more severe corrosive environment setting, the combination of nickel and chromium in the inconel 625 clad pipe

proves to be quite useful.   For instance, in aqueous mediums such as oxidizing chemicals, the alloy 625 seamless pipe is known to be quite resistant.   On the other hand, the combination of a high content of both nickel and molybdenum in the alloy 625 welded pipe is what supplies resistance to the alloy in a non- oxidizing environment.   The addition of niobium in the Nickel Alloy N06625 Welded Pipe acts as a stabilizing element in the alloy against sensitization, which can occur during welding.
